Tomorrow

I tip my Wild Bill Soda Pop Co. Stainless Steel Mug to you, Maryland, Salisbury, DC Metro, Towson, and everyone else at the Fall Retreat this weekend. I'm looking forward to spending the afternoon with you for the entertaining seminar.

Hug. And for the ladies, Side Hug.

Looking Behind, Looking Ahead

Last Thursday was great at George Mason University. The campus was beautiful, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the people laughed at my jokes. It couldn't have been better. Thanks to all the Mason students that came out to the seminar and special thanks to the RBC band that played the music for the evening!

Up next: Maryland. Actually, I'm traveling to Maryland for a fall retreat that includes a bunch of Maryland schools and a bunch of schools from the Washington DC area too. I'm really excited to go and do the seminar outside of the campus atmosphere. It should be a great time with a lot of great people.

If you'll be on the retreat, can't wait to see you! Oh, but any dudes out there...no hugs when you see me. It's been getting creepy lately with the hugs.

See you Saturday!

George Mason University-This Thursday

On the road again.

For the third leg of my trip this semester, I'll be traveling to George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. AKA: Northern Virginia, AKA: NOVA.

I have met quite a few students from Mason in my past runnings and am excited to perform to a great crowd that will hopefully have a lot of enthusiasm. The band from Reston Bible Church will be leading worship with me that night, so you know that'll be good too.

If you're in the NOVA area, come on out this Thursday at 8:30 in Enterprise 80 to hear some comedy and sing some worship. It's a win/win.

Trip to UAB

This is me being happy.

The trip this week to University of Alabama at Birmingham was great. I got to see a lot of cool things that I ordinarily don't as a yankee up north, so I'm thankful for being schooled by y'all from the south.

Thanks for the hospitality and the sweet tea. I'm tickled pink.

Alabama

I'm heading out tonight to fly to the University of Alabama Birmingham. Shelby's Seminar is going to happen tomorrow night on campus.

Now, judging by the appearance of the school's logo, I don't think it's going to be a friendly welcome...warm? Yes. Friendly? We'll have to wait and see. Dragon's frighten me.

I'm excited to take the trip and am looking forward to some sweet tea and maybe a running soundtrack of Lynard Skynard in the background the entire time I'm there. Talk to you when I get back.

Hug.

RADIATE09.com

The RADIATE09 website is live! Check it out and register for the most kickin' conference since last year's RADIATE08!

I'll be emceeing and I can't wait to pull a few new jokes out for you...just a few though; I'm not Superman for crying out loud.

Sneak Peek

I spent the weekend in Baltimore for the annual Sneak Peek weekend. Sneak Peek is an all-frills trip for students that want to be a part of the promotion and recruitment for RADIATE09.

The students got an early look at the amazing new hotel we'll be in come December, free food, free shirts, free water bottles, free cds and much more. It was a great time with everyone there from the Mid-Atlantic and the hope is that RADIATE will continue to see growth as we travel to a new and better destination this winter.

Above is the view from my room out to the inner harbor...and I was only on the 7th floor. The hotel has 23 floors. Use your imagination to picture what that view would be. No, wait. Don't use your imagination!; just head on over to the newly launched website! RADIATE09.com

Reunited at West Chester

Tonight I will reunite with the Bridge Band at West Chester University for the kick off of a long string of shows coming to the east coast this fall semester.

If you're in the area, come on by to Main 168 at 8:00 PM to hear a great band and see a mediocre comedian with an important message.

See you tonight!

MTV VMAs

Well, for the 25th year in a row, I didn't watch the MTV VMA's. And the above picture is only a small reason why.

Without a doubt there is always something completely ridiculous that happens, spawning that extremely uncomfortable feeling in the pit of my stomach, making me want to change the channel to ANYTHING ELSE that happens to be on the TV. I think I saw that last year, Katy Perry jumped into a giant cake on stage, then proceeded to slip with every other step she took and make a complete fool out of herself.

This year, the fool award goes to Kanye West for taking the microphone away from Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech to peddle his opinion at the most awkward and inappropriate time. Poor Taylor. At least she got to give her speech after all, later on due to the kindness of Beyonce.

But that doesn't change the fact that the MTV VMA's are a complete disaster. Any show hosted by Russel Brand (I think that's the guy, the one with the British accent and gigantic hair) is bound to be a stinker of epic proportions.

I guess I won't be watching again next year; can't wait!

The Bridge Band

Good news kids.  The Bridge Band is playing at RADIATE09.

To some of you, this is not a big surprise because you've known for some time now that they would be leading our worship times at the conference this year. To others, you are unaware of who the Bridge Band is, so you are kind of scratching your head.

Let me enlighten you. The Bridge Band is my favorite group to have leading worship. Period. In my opinion, they alone would be worth coming to RADIATE for. Now, I know that's building them up quite a bit, but I stand behind my endorsement and promise that they won't be a disappointment come December when the conference kicks off.

If you want more of a taste and are in the Philly area, they will be leading worship at my first comedy show of the semester at West Chester Univ. on the 17th. Check out the calendar for more details about when and where.
