The SBCR! (Shelby Blog Challenge Response!)

It's no secret that I'm a fan of the superhero universe. I've been a comic book nerd since I was in the 6th grade and have enjoyed following many heroes from Wolverine to Batman to Spiderman and of course, Superman. These heroes brought joy to my heart, and now's your chance to do likewise...

The very first SBCR! is simply this: Show your love for your favorite superhero. That's it!...let me see how you love any superhero that tickles your fancy, and do it creatively. You could draw a picture, make a video, take a picture of yourself in the act of performing a heroic deed (along with explanation), whatever! I just want to really feel the love for the love you have of your beloved superhero.

Email your submission to shelby@shelbyabbott.com by February the 14th (the day of love) and if you are chosen as a winner, you will receive the newest CD from Eric James and the New Century (ericjames.com)! Below is picture of me showing love for the Eric James CD that you will receive if you are chosen as the winner.

I look happy, don't I? Well, you will too if you win!

Aesthetic News!

Below are a few images from the DC06 Christmas Conference. I cut my hair a few days before the event as not to appear like a total moron...I don't think it worked.

An almost too close image of my time at the DC Christmas Conference. I really like the colors in the background of this picture, don't you?

I sang a few songs at DC06...and by "sing", I mean "ripped off". To be specific, I rewrote this year's most annoying song, "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt and this year's most emotional song, "What's Left of Me" by Nick Lachey.

DC06!--I will be emceeing the 2006 DC Christmas Conference coming up at the end of the month...come out and be entertained, enlightened and encouraged.

News!--These are scanned images of some Middle School art pieces that I created with my very own hand, mind, thought, and genius. Enjoy.

Joe Montana has always been my favorite football player...and you can see why I liked him so much: his raging mullet.

Wolverine made my skin tingle when I read about his adventures...getting beat up after I talked about him at school also made my skin tingle.

This represents my early and painful struggle with the anxiety of dealing with possible baldness in my future.

My interpretation of what Michael Jordan would look like if he were wearing a t-shirt at night. He also might be dealing with constipation; I don't know.

As an avid comic book fan in Jr. High, I liked Robin. Not Batman, but Robin. I know I'm a little nerdy, but the boy wonder seems to be somewhat afraid in this drawing...of what, I can't be sure. I captured his emotion quite well if I do say so myself.

I love TMNT, just loved them! Before I hit puberty, I drew many, many pictures of the turtles and their friends. This one is probably my favorite of the bunch and communicates that testosterone would soon flood my little 7th grade body. I felt like such a man after I drew this.
